The coronavirus that causes COVID-19 started from Wuhan in China in December 2019. As of 27th March 2020, more than 24,000 people have already died due to this virus. Certain people are at higher risk than others. A lot of people are asking if smokers & tobacco users at higher risk of COVID-19 infection.

The answer to that question is yes!

The COVID-19 the mortality rate is higher in people having heart disease, lung disease, diabetes or those taking immune-suppressing medicines.

We all know that Coronavirus spreads through contact. When you are smoking, essentially you are making hand to mouth contact, and if your hands have the virus, it will enter your body. Additionally, the cigarette you are smoking can also have the virus on it and it will enter your body. Sharing a cigarette is a bigger risk.
