The sweet aroma and the first sip of freshly brewed coffee is the ultimate way to jumpstart your morning or enjoy on a chilly evening. Everyone has their own way to enjoy coffee. But, different people make coffee differently, right? So, for your ease, we have a list of the best coffee shops in Kathmandu that are worth every penny!

1. Himalayan Java Coffee
Himalayan Java is Nepal’s own brand, which uses fresh and rich coffee beans that grow in our own soil.
They have a lot of branches spread out across the world. They are in places such as Jomsom, Patan Durbar Square, Namche Bazar, Thamel, Boudhha, Basantapur, Mandala Street, Canada, USA and more! HJC is a little bit costly than most cafes, but the calm environment in their cafes and the rich taste makes it worthy!
2. Highland Beans Coffee
Though it hasn’t been a long time since this cafe opened, it has quickly become a hub for youngsters and locals to sit down and have a good cup of coffee. The coffee is reasonably priced and you can even find a variety of breakfasts and other food items.
3. British Coffee School
Located at Maitidevi, this small cafe hub offers a cozy environment with friendly staff and occasional discounts. They also always have freshly baked cookies and cupcakes which is a major plus point. Recently, they have also added breakfast items to their menu.
4. Himalayan Arabica Beans
This coffee shop has a friendly and cozy ambiance and they don’t allow smoking inside which is awesome! They have a variety of items for breakfast and lunch. Their baristas are very talented as well!
5. Cafe Soma
Cafe Soma is considered overpriced by many people. However, they are known for their quality breakfasts and rich coffee. Many people stop by this cafe for a pleasant experience with the ambiance of a beautiful garden.
