BBC reports that in the U.K surgeons have successfully carried out a surgery to repair the spine of a baby. But here is the kicker – the baby was still inside the womb of its mother.
The baby was in its 27th week of development, and it was diagnosed for not developing its spine correctly -in regular checkup in the 20th week. The condition that the baby suffered is known as Spina bifida.
The procedure was carried out at King’s College Hospital, London. The mother has been identified as Sherrie Sharp and her son is Jaxson.
Jaxson was born prematurely but is said to be doing well. His mother had refused to abort even after knowing the complications of having a baby with spina bifida.
