May 9. Kathmandu. The price of poultry products has decreased by up to 25%. This price drop comes as an aftermath of bird-flu detection in Nepal.

The average daily consumption of poultry in Nepal is normally 510 tonnes but after the bird-flu detection, this consumption has gone down to 400 tonnes.

We would like to remind all that bird flu virus gets destroyed at a temperature of 70 degree Celsius. If you cook the meat well, you are fully safe.

However, poultry farmers, butchers and poultry distributors need to take great care as they are the ones who come to contact with poultry body fluids, which might contain H1B5 virus.
