Public bus companies have expressed their unhappiness for the lack of policies and laws to run electric vehicles in Kathmandu.
Sundar Yatat Pvt Ltd has publicly stated that they have two 40 seater electric buses, complete with air conditioning, ready to run in Kathmandu but have not been able to do so for legal reasons.
The government of Nepal had stated that they would bring into operation 300 electric vehicles in major cities of Nepal but this promise has not been worked upon. The main sticky point has been the finalization of the rate of electricity per unit for electric buses.
