May 19. Kathmandu. More than 80% of the work stated in the Lumbini Master Plan has been completed. The plan was conceived for the systematic development of Gautam Buddha’s birthplace.

Lumbini Master Plan was prepared by Kenzo Tange, an architect from Japan. He had prepared this plan as requested by UNESCO.

Lumbini Development Trust is aiming to complete the master plan within three years. The master plan lays out a plan to develop 1,155 bighas of land into a holy city for pilgrimage and as a tourist site.
