On a press conference, Pokhara Rhinos have confirmed that veteran West Indies batsman Chris Gayle will come to Nepal to play this year’s Everest Premier League (EPL).

Deepa Agarwal, the owner of Pokhara Rhinos, said that “EPL’s success motivated us to convince one of the best T-20 players and legend of the game, Chris Gayle, to feature in the tournament.” Signing Chris Gayle was not easy, it took the Rhinos months of negotiations.

Chris will be playing in the upcoming Everest Premier League (EPL) Cricket Tournament. However, we are not sure how many matches Gayle will actually play. Chris has said that he needs to play the IPL as well, so he has to balance his stay in Nepal accordingly.

It is obvious that Chris taking part in EPL will uplift the cricket scene nationally, and perhaps, internationally as well. In addition, Chris Gayle playing in Nepal will be beneficial for Visit Nepal 2020.

Other big names confirmed to play in this EPL are Sri Lanka’s Upul Tharanga for Lalitpur Patriots, Afghanistan’s Mohamed Shahzad for Chitwan Tigers, West Indies’ Devon Smith for Bhariahawa Gladiators.
