May 8. Mountain View California. The parent company of Google, Alphabet, has just launched its cheaper version of its Pixel smartphone. The new phone is priced at $399 and unlike its previous version- the exclusive U.S distribution deal with Verizon no longer applies.

Even with the branding and marketing prowess of Google, Pixel has not been able to show substantial existence in the market. Apple and Samsung are far ahead interms of sales and models.

Last year’s Pixel 3 was priced at $799 while this model –Pixel 3a is available for $399.
