Far East Nepal’s Mechi area consists of four counties: Ilam, Jhapa, Taplejung, and Panchthar. Jhapa is in the Terai, Ilam, and Panchthar in the hilly region and Taplejung is mountainous among them.
The major attractions of these regions are Kanyam, Shree Antu, Kanchenjunga region and the Pathibhara Temple. Enjoying the cold climate, tea farms and beautiful sceneries.
Pathibhara Devi or Mukkumlung (locally) is one of the most important Hindu deity shrines in Nepal, on Taplejung Hill. It is also regarded as one of Kirat’s holy locations.
During unique occasions, worshipers from various areas of Nepal and India arrive at the Temple as the pilgrimage to the temple is thought to ensure the pilgrims ‘ wishes are fulfilled. It is believed that the deity possesses supernatural powers and respond diligently to the prayers of devotees.
Phungling bazar, the Taplejung District Headquarters is situated approximately 900 kilometers from Kathmandu at an altitude of 3,79 45 m and the temple is situated ~20 kilometers south of the city.
