Madras High Court has reversed the ban on the popular video app “TikTok” after the hearing on Wednesday.
The high court had previously requested Google and Apple to remove the TikTok app from their app store after determining that the app was encouraging illicit content. This action didn’t affect the users who had already downloaded the application. However, new users were unable to access the app.
TikTok has the largest user base in India with nearly 300 million users. The Chinese company, Bytes Technology claimed that it would lose an estimated $500,000 daily if the ban stayed in effect.
The company has welcomed the reversal of the ban. However, Twitter has exploded with mixed reactions!!
There are some users, posting hilarious videos stating why Tik Tok should be banned again!
Although the ban reversal was welcomed, some users are still worried about the illicit content that may be available on Tik Tok !!
