March 13. Kathmandu.

India has just confirmed its first death due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

The victim is identified as a 76-year-old man from Karnataka state. He had recently travelled from Saudi Arabia.

Karnataka’s Health Minister B Sriramulu has clarified that in the wake of this confirmed death, they are started contact tracing, isolation and other appropriate measures to bring coronavirus contamination under control.

The authorities have also revealed that the victim had other health issues including hypertension, appendicitis, diabetes and asthma.
