May 12. Kathmandu. Kathmandu is thirsty. Melamchi Water Project aims to change that. However, the project has missed all the dead lines since the project started on December 2000 AD.
The fate of the super-delayed project is getting delayed again. The Italian company building this project abandoned the project citing its worrisome financial state in December 2018.
The Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Prachanda, whose party runs the current government, has recently expressed that his party’s government will intervene if necessary to save the Melamchi project.
We hope Melamchi Water Project will be completed soon.
