Astha Raut is finally free on bail. She was released on Rs 4000 bail on Jan 28. Kathmandu Chief District Officer asked the police to release her. Astha Raut got herself in trouble after an incident with airport security woman Ramita Shrestha at Tribhuvan International Airport.

An arrest warrant was issued to Aastha in the aftermath of the TIA airport incident. However, she was in Sikkim at the time of her arrest warrant issue.

She appeared at the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, on 27th January (Monday) along with her family members. The same day Kathmandu District Office directed to remand Astha in custody for four days to prepare charge sheet.

Astha spent Monday night at Blue Cross Hospital for hypertension. Perhaps due to exceeding pressure, the police prepared a charge sheet in 2 days. So, Astha was free on 28th January on a bail.

Astha is happy to be out. She says the police treated her very well. Her voice and tone have surely changed. In addition, she is asking the media to work responsibly and vowed to respect law and order. Here is her reaction.

We will not know for certain if Astha has really changed or she is fearing the police. Whatever the case, we are sure that everyone now understands the implication of going against the police and using “indecent language”.
