Facebook has finally announced its plan to ban personality quiz applications on its platform, a year after the Cambridge Analytica Scandal, which helped researches access personal data of 87 million people through the app “thisisyourdigitallife.”

This ban on personality quizzes is a part of a boarder crackdown to stop developers from accessing data across the platform.

Apart from the banning, Facebook is also taking several measures like updating its policies, restricting developers access to several older API’s that will prevent a developer from accessing new data if the app hasn’t been used in 90 days and regular evaluation of an app’s access to users permissions.

Do you think this ban will help decrease the growing concern of Facebook users regarding the safety of their data?
